Hip-Hop Top 5: NorthWest Edition III
57
Get out your headphones, time to get educated.
It's hard to imagine, but the bulk of the amazing music that touches my ears will never reach many that don't go out looking for it. It's a shame, but I don't think that current fans and followers understand the magnitude of the situation that is stirring in Seattle and throughout the PNW. We have some of the most eloquent, lyrical, message music on the map, and very little air play, so I'm just trying to reach out and find the people that care to listen. Hope everyone enjoys and thank you if you read!
Macklemore: Irish Celebration
I know he makes my list every week, but hey you can't argue with greatness. Macklemore gives us a great song to throw up a brew to and sing out the door with our friends. This song celebrates life, love of the land, and a often overlooked aspect of our lives, our heritage. Bottoms up!
Common Market: Trouble Is
Some Pacific Northwest beard rap at it's finest. This group matches it's intensity with a very introspective, real listen into the mind of these hip-hop guru's. Pay your due to a group that should need no introduction, Common Market.
Fice: In The Kitchen
Fice brings it here again with "In The Kitchen". Probably more because of his location than anything, Fice doesn't seem to get near as much attetion than some maybe less talented acts around the rim. The guy is a delivery monster and you watch it, he'll be alot bigger soon, and will for sure be making more lists. Reppin' Tacoma hard, here is Fice.
Swollen Members: Night Vision
Can't talk about the NorthWest hip-hop scene for long with me and not get on some Swollen Members. The boys north of the northern international border are armed with teeth and beats. If the clown look isn't your thing, turn the speakers up and walk away, this song is dope.
SOL: This Shit
Just another 420 friendly shout out from SOL. Say what you will, but rap music and MJ are linked. If you ain't talking about it, your probably leaving everyone else with some questions. Walk the line though, we're talking moderation, not about glorification. One Love <3
Honorable Mention- Grieves: Scar Gardens
Throw everyone a little throwback. Scar Gardens is for sure my favorite Grieves song of all time. The darkness and depth presented in the "Irreversible" album is un-paralleled by ANY artist. The pain and resentment is something almost anyone can relate to at some point in their lives. Thanks for the listen!!!

Hi there Seattleamilehigh1, were neighbors !! I live close to Shelton, WA.
Nice to meet ya!
Your links to the music you listed aren't posted. Are we too look them up online? It seems there should be links to the music/groups that you speak of, that is why I asked.
And my husband loves 4:20. Well, he used too. Not any more. He's a truck driver so he can't do that.
Anyhow, I would love to hear the music that you post here. Being a lot Irish, I would like to hear "Macklemore."
